The Solid Edge Standard Parts Administrator add-on module is a Solid Edge native application that provides the necessary tools to build a Standard Parts database of Machine Library and Piping components. This release of Solid Edge has been certified to run on the following:
NOTE: Solid Edge ST9 is 64-bit only. Solid Edge ST6 was the last release of 32-bit Solid Edge.
Windows Home and Windows RT are not supported.
Solid
Edge stops certifying new releases against an operating system shortly
after Microsoft drops mainstream support for it. Solid Edge ST9 will
not install on Windows Vista or Windows XP. Microsoft dropped
mainstream support for Windows 7 in January 2015. Solid Edge ST9
continues to install on Windows 7, however, if there is a Windows 7
specific problem, we cannot guarantee that a fix can be provided if
support is required from Microsoft.
NOTE: Solid Edge ST10 will be the last Solid Edge release to support Windows 7.
Solid Edge does not support the Windows 10 browser, Microsoft Edge.
It is not recommended that you run Solid Edge on Server operating systems.
Internet Explorer is not required to be the default browser.
Some
Solid Edge commands require Microsoft Excel. Solid Edge stops testing
with Microsoft products shortly after Microsoft drops mainstream
support for them. Microsoft dropped mainstream support for Office 2007
in October 2012. Microsoft dropped mainstream support for Office 2010
in October 2015. ST9 will be the last release to support Office
2010. With ST9, we recommend Microsoft Office Professional 2013.

Solid Edge ST9 demonstrates the ever increasing value of the Solid Edge product. Many new features have been added to this release, all of which continue the focus on implementing state-of-the-art technology with outstanding usability. Insert the Solid Edge DVD. Autostart should start automatically. Select the "Standard Parts Administrator" link. The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through the installation.
If Autostart does not start, you can double-click setup.exe located in the Standard Parts Administrator folder on the Solid Edge DVD.
You must install and remove Solid Edge Standard Parts Administrator from an account that has Administrator privileges. Solid Edge Standard Parts Administrator will run under User, Administrator, or Guest privileges.
Standard Parts requires SQLExpress or SQLServer to be installed on the Standard Parts server machine. Refer to the Standard Parts Installation Guide for details on how to configure SQLExpress or SQLServer.
Note - SQLExpress 2012 SP1 or SQLServer 2012 is recommended for Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems. If it is not already loaded on the system, Standard Parts Administrator installs SQLExpress 2012 SP1.
Your Standard Parts database may be converted directly for use in ST9 by running the Configuration Wizard, selecting the standard parts configuration "sac" file, and clicking "Yes" when prompted to convert to ST9.
Click Programs and Features from Control Panel. A list of products installed on your system will be presented. Select the Solid Edge Standard Parts Administrator entry and click the Remove button to begin the uninstall process.
By default, Solid Edge displays web-served help. Set your browser language preference to determine what language is displayed.
If the server cannot provide any language in your preferences, it displays English as a default.
If you cannot access the Internet from your workstation, you can display help installed with Solid Edge by doing the following:
Help installed with Solid Edge is not as full featured as web-served help. Tutorials, videos, self-paced training, and advanced search across all these content areas are only available with internet access.
